Independence Day also called to as the 4th of July is a federal holiday in the United States in honor of the Declaration of Independence 241 years ago on July 4, 1776.This day is an important day for American people because it isn’t just a holiday so it`s a great national triumph when in this day everything decorated with USA`s symbols.
In 1775 inhabitants of 13 English colonies of North America have begun fight for the independence. On July 2, 1776 the Congress has unanimously voted for independence from Great Britain. In two days, on July 4, the Congress has officially adopted the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson. Though actually vote for independence the 2nd of July, it is considered day of adoption of the Declaration of Independence, and birthday of the American independence is 4th July.
Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions.Also it is a patriotic holiday. Many politicians speak at public actions, expressing the support and admiration to historical values of the USA. Citizens of the United States express the gratitude to fighters for freedom.
The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom of the USA therefore this day to get on the Island of Freedom very difficult because everybody want to get on. This day educational institutions, the public and financial institutions don't work, and city transport works according to the special schedule. For all these years of celebration each state tried to create its own traditions of celebration.
At our American corner which located on 44 Erubaev Street we wonderful celebrated this special date with our new volunteer Vinit Shah. In order to get more American spirit we decorated our cabinet with American symbols, displayed a book-exhibition of history of Independence Day. Also our active participant Dinara prepaired thematic games ans questions. We had a memoraiable and amusing celebration because each AC users received presents from the Embassy of USA.
